Dr. Heather Handler champions workforce-ready learning with over 17 years of experience across Florida, Delaware, and Maryland. A passionate leader in STEM, Engineering, and Science education, she has shaped innovative programs at both middle and high school levels, preparing students for future careers.Before entering education, Dr. Handler served as a U.S. Navy Search and Rescue Swimmer, specializing in Anti-Submarine Warfare—a testament to her resilience and strategic mindset. Her dedication to CTE has transformed opportunities for students, earning her accolades and awards throughout the years.A trailblazer in career-focused learning, Dr. Handler launched a local Youth Apprenticeship Program and expanded robotics initiatives district-wide. She partnered with a Lineman School to design and pilot Maryland’s first Summer Lineworker Program. Funded through a competitive grant from the Maryland State Department of Education, this pioneering initiative bridges education with high-demand industry skills, creating direct pathways for students into the energy sector. Through her visionary leadership, she continues to open doors for students of all backgrounds, ensuring every learner has a path to success.
