About me
Adam Canter is the Director of Career Technical Education for the West Virginia Department of Education in Charleston, West Virginia. Before coming to the West Virginia Department of Education, Adam was the Manager of Cedar Lakes Conference Center and Director at a non-profit organization for educational services. Since coming to the Department of Education in 2016, Adam has been working to expand and enrich the career technical education experience within West Virginia’s schools. Currently, Adam is focusing on streamlining procedures and developing processes for funding and accountability purposes, creating innovative approaches to work-based learning, and leading work to restructure standards for all CTE courses in West Virginia. Adam continues to work diligently to ensure West Virginia’s career technical education programs benefit students and serve as resources for the local industries across the state.
