About me
Carlos Vazquez is the Founder and President of Miami EdTech, a nonprofit dedicated to closing the digital divide and expanding access to computer science, workforce development, and teacher professional learning. A Bronx native and former fifth-grade teacher, Carlos has spent more than 20 years at the intersection of technology and education, designing pathways that connect K–12, postsecondary, and employers to high-demand careers. He is also an adjunct professor at Miami-Dade College's School of Engineering and Technology.
He founded GoSprout, a career readiness and work-based learning management platform used by Fortune 500 companies, workforce boards, and school districts to streamline internships, apprenticeships, and other work-based learning programs. Under his leadership, Miami EdTech has launched initiatives such as Workforce.Miami and AI/UX Apprenticeship programs, as well as partnerships with global leaders like United Airlines and Volvo to modernize apprenticeship systems.
Carlos holds a degree in Computer Science from Fordham University and dual master’s degrees in Web Strategy & Design and Bilingual Education. Rooted in his personal journey growing up in the South Bronx, Carlos is passionate about expanding economic mobility through innovative, employer-driven work-based learning models.
